“ Extremely friendly staff, great food and there's lots of history and interesting things to see while you are in this restaurant that has been family owned and operated for more than 4 generations. The owners sons were on staff/managing the day of our first visit and one of them came to our table to introduce himself and tell us a little of the history. The food: hush puppies, boiled peanuts, and coleslaw were excellent The scampi flounder was very good, the bourbon cod was good, and the Chilean Sea Bass croquette was SO delicious. The bourbon Brussels on the side were good too. I left nothing on my plate. I tried my wife's friend oysters and they were very juicy and delicious. Highly recommend this place if you're in Charleston! ”
“ We got chicken and waffles and the “deep deep south”, plus fried green tomatoes and hush puppies. Best fried green tomatoes I’ve ever had! All the food was fantastic! Our waitress, Shayna, was super attentive and friendly. We’ll definitely be going back next time we’re in town! ”
“ As they state it’s all about a good attitude. They go above and beyond to offer an excellent service, food is absolutely amazing, best quality you can get and fantastic atmosphere! I absolutely loved Carolina’s delight and she crab soup, while my husband considers the Fettuccine Alfredo w/shrimp one of the best he ever had. It’s all about the detail, from the restaurant to their bathroom! The line is absolutely worth it! We also love the store at the exit and the bathroom salt scrub! Do yourself a favor and check it out! recommended! ”
“ We had an unforgettable experience at Hyman’s Seafood in downtown Charleston on Father’s Day! My 10-year-old had been craving seafood and crawfish, so he found this spot, and it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch. Tobias Hyman, the owner personally greeted us and even brought out an amazing lobster appetizer to get us started. While my son was happily digging into his seafood boil, the owner surprised him with extra crawfish just for him, he was thrilled! He even told me, “We’re definitely coming back—Hyman’s gets 5 stars!” Everything from the Bloody Mary cocktail to the appetizers, Seafood boil, fresh fish was absolutely delicious. Huge thanks to the staff and Tobias for making us feel so welcome and creating such a fun and memorable dining experience. We’ll definitely be back again soon! ”
“ Outstanding Seafood and Southern Hospitality at Hyman’s We recently dined at Hyman’s Seafood in Charleston with a party of four, and it was hands down one of the best meals we’ve had in the city. Despite visiting on a busy Saturday, we were seated after a short and reasonable wait of about 20 minutes. From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations. We began with the calamari appetizer, which was perfectly cooked crispy, tender, and full of flavor. For entrees, our table ordered the “Deep Deep South” and the “Flounder ” both were outstanding and showcased the rich, savory flavors of Southern cuisine done right. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere had that welcoming Charleston charm. It’s easy to see why Hyman’s has earned its impressive 4.9-star rating on Google. If you’re visiting Charleston and looking for top-tier seafood with a local flair, this place should be at the top of your list. ”
“ This establishment was phenomenal! The environment was very welcoming, comforting, and clean. The central location was very convenient as well. The food was absolutely delicious! The Carolina Delight with the bacon and cheese was mouthwatering, creamy and savory. The build your own platter was full of choices and delicious. The best scallops I have had in a very long time and that says a lot from this New England Girl. The steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned to the Gods. This was our first time and certainly will not be our last. The service was exceptional from Emily S, definitely ask for her when you come. We truly tip our hats to the chefs, the owners, and all the staff, thank you so much! ”
“ Had a 35 minute wait for two, which in my opinion isn’t bad especially on July 4th. The staff was extremely friendly, and the whole set up was amazing. While we waited for our food we could look around at all the celebrities they had framed, and they even had plaques to show who sat at your table! I got the shrimp feast (which was to die for) the buffalo being my favorite. It also came with their take on shrimp and grits which they call Carolina Delight. Make sure to save room for their amazing dessert!! ”
“ Montana was WONDERFUL! Told her it was our wedding anniversary and she got us a free piece of pie. The food was amazing. The owner even came over and asked how everything was. We will definitely make this a must do every time we are in Charleston. ”
